This is one of the very best Acropora coral tanks I’ve seen under LEDs. Yet, we still notice the distorted growth of the colonies. Coloration under „white lights“ shows their real pigment formation. Some of the pigments just can’t be produced and this video points out those Acro species. The growth is also compromised and we can see skinny colonies. Are they somehow struggling? The „staghorn so to speak“ coral is because it’s under LEDs… other wise it would be a real staghorn Acro showing it’s beautiful glory. I miss the time we had tanks like this under metal halides and T5s! They used to show the very best corals we could grow in captivity, very close to their natural colony formation, pigment production and vitality.
This is not a negative comment! I love this tank. It is very well maintained and shows dedication and passion. It’s an example for those who want to use LEDs. Invest on the coverage and you will have similar results!!! Amazing! Always great to see ACROS!
